BonHaven Beef Cattle
BonHaven Beef Cattle's primary focus is in seedstock production. The cattle are currently run on 5 different properties. The Hereford and Angus divisions are based in Tarkastad, Eastern Cape. An annual sale is held on the property. The Braford and Red Brahman divisions are based in Cullinan, Gauteng. Recently, a Red Brahman herd has been founded in Otjiwarongo, Namibia and a Braford herd has been founded in Gobabis, Namibia. A commercial Braford herd is based in L'escalier, Mauritius. Further developments are currently underway in George, Western Cape and elsewhere. There is one common goal though - superior genetic packages through balanced breeding.

A new African Record Price of R180 000 was set for an Angus Bull on 4 August 2011.
Mequatling Royal Flush 06 36 was purchased by Ebrahim Khan, Ballyclimb Angus, Hopefield, WC.
Royal Flush had two sons on the sale (Averaging R51 250) and four 10-month-old daughters (Averaging R17 500).
16 Red Angus Bulls averaged R44 000. 9 Red Angus open and pregnant females averaged R16 500.
The high-selling Black Angus Bull was De-Panne Maxima 07 6. He made R70 000 selling to Ebrahim Khan of Ballyclimb Angus, Hopefield, WC.
A month later he was awarded the Grand Champion ribbon at the Western Cape Championships in Moorreesburg.
This is third time that he has been Grand Champion in Moorreesburg. (Once in a National Show).
11 Black Angus Bulls averaged R30 000. 17 open and pregnant Black Angus Females averaged R15 500.
BonHaven Wall Street 07 9 was one of four high-selling Hereford bulls at R42 000. He was selected by Henry Roux of Bethlehem, Free State.
The other 3 high-sellers at R42 000 were BonHaven Arthur Harold 09 74 (Griffin Herefords, Dargle, KZN), BonHaven ZZ Top 08 118 (Gary Phillips, Grahamstown, EC) & BonHaven August Rush 09 25 (FJ Nel, Rhodes, EC).
The highest-valued Hereford Bull (R80 000) of the day was BonHaven Zodiac 08 32.
1/2 Interest and 1/2 Possession was sold for R40 000 to Chris van der Vywer of Somerset East, EC.
14 1/2 Hereford Bulls averaged R30 300. 9 open and pregnant Hereford Females averaged R10 500.
10 Tarka Grey Brahman Bulls averaged R33 000. The Auctioneer was Allan Sinclair for BKB and Simon Hughes Marketing.
